Carly Hendrick is the CEO and Lead Designer of Trend Letters, Oregon’s leading cheerleading apparel company, proudly based in Portland. Her passion for cheer began early, but her journey took a pivotal turn when she was cut from her school’s cheerleading team—not because of lack of talent or dedication, but because the program didn’t have a uniform that fit her. As a taller athlete, Carly experienced firsthand how limited sizing and long lead times could exclude deserving athletes. That moment sparked a lifelong mission to create a brand that champions inclusivity, accessibility, and style.
Trend Letters was born from that mission and continues to disrupt the cheerleading apparel space by offering high-quality, fashion-forward designs that serve athletes of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Carly draws on over two decades of experience as both a cheerleader and coach to lead the brand with deep insight into the needs of teams and individuals. From engineering outerwear suited for the rainy Pacific Northwest to designing custom All-Star uniforms for top athletes nationwide, every piece is thoughtfully created with performance, comfort, and expression in mind.
Trend Letters is also deeply committed to affordability—because exclusion in cheer doesn’t just come from size, but also from cost. Carly believes that no athlete should be priced out of the sport they love, which is why the brand works hard to offer flexible solutions that respect team budgets without compromising on quality, timelines or style.
Today, Carly leads Trend Letters alongside her husband, combining their strengths as a passionate ownership team. Together, they are raising two boys and building a business rooted in purpose, creativity, and family values—proving that with heart and hustle, anything is possible.

Chad Hendrick is the Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder of Trend Letters, where he has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and enhancing customer engagement since joining in 2013. With a background spanning both finance and sales, Chad brings a unique blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience to his leadership role.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Chad earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2010. His career reflects a strong commitment to operational excellence, financial discipline, and building lasting client relationships. Chad helps guide the long-term vision of Trend Letters while overseeing its financial health. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with family and staying connected to his Pacific Northwest roots.
Meet Lorisa
Lorisa Kennedy—known to many as “Lo”—has her heart behind Trend Letters. A lifelong Oregon native and seasoned entrepreneur, Lorisa brings over a decade of business experience and more than 20 years of cheerleading expertise to her work in the cheer and dance apparel industry.
As a former athlete, longtime coach, and now president of a community-based non-profit cheer organization, Lorisa has dedicated her life to supporting young athletes both on and off the mat. Her deep understanding of team needs, performance demands, and spirit culture fuels every design and decision behind the Trend Letters brand.
What began as a side hustle making custom gear and helping out her long time cheer friend's business (Carly) has grown into a dynamic company that serves teams across the country with cutting-edge apparel, uniforms, and branded merchandise. Lo's passion for creativity, detail, and customer connection shines through in every project she touches.
When she’s not helping grow the business or coaching, you’ll find her hanging out with her dog Theo, Binge watching Netflix shows or dreaming up the next big idea to elevate the industry.

Melinda brings the heart of Oklahoma and a true passion for cheer to every gym she visits across the United States. With her signature big hair and even bigger smile, she's been a beloved figure in both all-star and sideline cheer communities. As a proud representative of Trend Letters, Melinda takes special pride in connecting teams with custom uniforms that truly capture their unique spirit without ever compromising on quality. Her genuine enthusiasm for Trend Letters' exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail mirrors her own dedication to excellence in everything she does.
A true Southern belle who never leaves home without her lipstick and a perfectly coordinated outfit, Melinda lights up every room she enters with her infectious energy and warm personality. Her deep connection to cheerleading isn't just professional—it's a family affair. Her daughter coaches both all-star and sideline cheer for their local youth program, while her 11-year-old granddaughter is carrying on the family legacy as an enthusiastic all-star and sideline athlete. When she's not watching her granddaughter perform or keeping tabs on her son at Oklahoma State University, Melinda can be found traveling coast to coast, helping teams discover their perfect look through Trend Letters' innovative designs.
When she's not showcasing Trend Letters' stunning collection of all-star and sideline uniforms, Melinda channels her eye for style into her real estate career, where she particularly loves exploring new builds and helping clients find their perfect home. A self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast, she treasures moments at the beach and thrives on meeting new people throughout both the cheer and real estate industries.
Together with her wonderful husband, she's built a life that perfectly blends family, passion, and profession. Her favorite part of representing Trend Letters? Ariel Jackson is an accomplished Operations Manager specializing in custom athletic apparel. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Marylhurst University, she brings both structure and creativity to every aspect of her work — from streamlining production processes to building meaningful relationships with clients and team members alike.
Known for her playful personality and natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life, Ariel combines operational expertise with a human touch. Her leadership style is rooted in organization, empathy, and a commitment to excellence, making her a trusted and inspiring presence in the workplace.
